Senior Mechanical Designer – Energy Systems & Advanced Mechanical Equipment W/M
Nous répondons généralement sous deux semaines
INOCEL is a French company in the industrial energy transition, specialized in the design and commercialization of modular, free‑emission hydrogen generators. Our solutions deliver continuous and reliable power to critical industries - from data centers to construction sites and remote locations - without compromising performance.
Backed by more than 25 years of research on hydrogen fuel cells, we offer modular generators for both stationary and mobile applications: GEN‑Z 300, GEN‑Z 600, and GEN‑Z 1300. Beyond equipment, INOCEL provides turnkey solutions, including integration, maintenance, and advanced monitoring to ensure reliability, performance, and durability.
With industrial production in Belfort and R&D centers in Grenoble and Cannes, INOCEL combines innovation, technological expertise, and positive environmental impact. Our scalable and silent solutions enable partners worldwide to transition toward a zero‑carbon future, reinforcing our international vision and our role as a global leader in hydrogen energy.
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our engineering team and contribute to the development of next-generation clean energy systems.
This is an opportunity to design innovative mechanical equipment combining thermal systems, fluid handling, structural design, piping, and complex assemblies. You will work on products from concept through prototype and industrialization, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced engineering environment.
While our products operate at elevated temperatures, we welcome candidates from a broad range of industries. Experience with complex mechanical systems is more important than prior experience in fuel cells or high-temperature equipment.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you will:
Design mechanical assemblies and components for advanced energy systems and Balance of Plant equipment.
Develop robust, manufacturable and cost-effective solutions from concept to production.
Create detailed 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings and technical documentation.
Design components such as: Mechanical structures and enclosures, Manifolds and piping systems, Flanged connections, Heat exchangers, Bellows and expansion joints, Air and gas handling equipment, Thermal management assemblies.
Select appropriate materials based on mechanical, thermal and manufacturing requirements.
Perform engineering calculations related to structural integrity, thermal expansion and pressure-containing components.
Support design verification through analysis (FEA, CFD where applicable) and prototype testing.
Work closely with systems, process, manufacturing and test engineers throughout product development.
Collaborate with suppliers to optimize manufacturing processes and component quality.
Participate in prototype builds, testing and continuous product improvement.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
7+ years of experience in mechanical design of industrial products or complex mechanical systems.
Strong experience in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, Inventor, NX or equivalent).
Experience designing fabricated, machined and welded assemblies.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacturing (DfM).
Ability to produce detailed manufacturing drawings and GD&T documentation.
Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals including tolerancing, materials selection and structural design.
Hands-on mindset with interest in prototype development and product validation.
Experience That Would Be Valuable
